I currently have two different red tail boas that I need to re-home. I just moved to North Carolina from Texas and had to move into a small one bedroom apartment. I did not realize that my apartment complex does not allow snakes until after I moved and now it is too late to find another place. They are both great snakes, have been very well taken care of pets and deserve a great home!
The first boa is a male Columbian red tail boa, Houdini, he is just under 6 feet long and is three years old. He is very tame and has never struck or bitten anyone. We just moved here so he was a little on the grumpy side this morning when I took him out from the traveling but should be back to normal by tomorrow evening at the latest. Houdini was eating a large rat every week, but I switched him over to jumbo or colossal rat and he has slowed down to eating about every two weeks instead. I do not have kids so he has not been around them much except when I take him out and they are around or they want to touch him. Houdini is the first two pictures I have posted.
The second boa is a female Guyana red tail boa, Medusa, and she is under a year old and already about two feet long. She eats a mouse every 5-7 days and has a very healthy appetite. Guyana red tailed boas are "true boas" and she has a GORGEOUS dark red tail. She has very pretty markings and beautiful colors and I'm really sad to see her go. True boas are a little bit different than a regular red tail boa so if you do not know about them you might want to do a little bit of research on Guyanas before deciding to get her. I handle her all of the time, she's been great so far and hasn't struck or bitten either. She does tend to have a little bit of an attitude when she's about to shed. There has been two or three times that I've first gone to get her out and she's hissed a little bit at me, but like I said has never actually struck or bitten. She is young and that has a lot to do with it, I handle her as much as possible so she should stop that soon. She really is a beautiful girl and is going to make someone a great snake. Medusa is the third, fourth, and fifth pictures I have posted. Pictures really do not do her enough justice, she's very pretty!
The cages I have the snakes in are both Reptile Vision Cages. Both are the V332 Model with the extra vent and retail for $269.00 each. They are stackable cages and you can separate them or add more to them if you would like. You can see the cage details including measurements online at - http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/vision-cages-racks-tubs-and-visionariums/vision-cages-and-tubs/-/v332-vision-cage-with-extra-vent/ ... Both cages have coconut reptibark in them as well as decorations and water bowls. I will also include a heat lamp with each cage and the red lightbulbs. The heat lamps have an adjustable setting so there's no need to switch to night lamps, just turn them down at night instead. If you prefer to use the longer UV bulbs, the cages do have a place for those so you can use them with or instead of the lamps. The doors on the cages are sliding glass, and they open both ways. I do not have locks for them, neither snake has ever gotten out and they are very secure even without the locks. However, if you are not comfortable with that then you can buy the locks online on the same website I listed above that sells the cages (they are $11.99 each but like I said I haven't needed them so that's up to you). The cages are shown in the sixth and seventh pictures I have posted.
I am asking a reasonable re-homing fee for both snakes and for the vision cages. The re-homing fees on the snakes is FAR less than I paid for them. I would like $100 for the Columbian male and $200 for the Guyana female. The vision cages retail at $269 each before what I paid for tax and shipping, so I would like around $200 each for them. If you want to combine both snakes, both cages, a snake with a cage, or everything together I will go down on my re-homing fee a little bit to help out. I might consider offers, not sure yet. No trades! If you have any questions or would like more pictures feel free to e-mail me and I'll respond as quickly as possible. Thanks for your time!
