About the Company:
Wam-Bam Fence Inc is a small start-up company located in Cornelius North Carolina. Our product line is manufactured in China and our intended customer base will be comprised of both specialty retailers and large national retailers.
We are seeking someone who is able to take ownership both to ESTABLISH and to MAINTAIN our basic accounting requirements. Initially this role would be part time but will probably grow into a full time role over time. Initially your work schedule could be fairly flexible.

Bookkeeper
Job Objective/ Purpose:
To maintain the accounting records on a day to day basis by entering bills, payments to and from customers, etc.

Responsibilities/Duties
Initially
-need to set up on-line Net Suite System and have fully functional for Jan 1st
-satisfy all North Carolina legal requirements
-get all processes in place to support basic small business requirements
Daily
Ø Code and enter invoices from vendors into the system
Ø Enter cash receipts
Ø Weekly Bank reconciliations
Ø Process credit requests
Ø Pick up phone when sales staff are out of the office
Ø Process a cheque run weekly
Ø Prepare payroll for processing through third party company
Ø Follow up with past due accounts
Ø Process credits for returned merchandise
Ø Send monthly statements to customers with balances
Ø Answer phone as necessary
Conditions of the Position:
Ø Working environment is extremely open and position requires a fair degree of self confidence/ thick skin to perform comfortably
Ø This candidate needs to be very competent on a computer
Ø We are a small entrepreneurial “young at heart” company so the willingness to wear “many hats” would be viewed as a positive.
Hours:
-10 hrs a week initially….growing to possible full time.
-work location would be at our office in Cornelius
Start Date:
Dec 1st, 2009
Payscale:
$15 to $20 per hr……or to be determined based on ability and experience
Requirements
Ø Above all, we are looking for a disciplined person with a good attitude and self-motivation. You are both good with people and numbers……not just numbers.
Ø Experience working with accounting software
Ø Good phone etiquette and listening skills
Ø Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
Ø Ability to handle multiple tasks and rapidly shifting priorities
Ø Upbeat, positive and friendly personality….likes to laugh!
Ø Above average communication skills
Ø Very good with computers and different software applications
